Amy Catherine Murray went to her eternal home on February 27, 2022, at the age of 53. As a lifelong resident of Destrehan, La., Amy was born in New Orleans on August 16, 1968, to Paul Murray Jr. and the late June LeBlanc Murray.
As a graduate of St. Charles Catholic High School, Amy went on to study nursing at Delgado Community College and then attended The University of Holy Cross. She tended to many families in the office of Dr. Chava and helped save countless lives working in St. Charles Parish Hospital’s emergency room.
Her compassionate heart and unwavering love for her family and friends is undeniable. She was always the first person to help someone in need. She had the ability to find the silver lining in any situation and made people smile even on the darkest days. Spending time with her children and grandchildren is what brought her the most joy. Her bright smile and radiant personality will be forever loved and remembered.
Amy is survived by four amazing sons and one beautiful daughter: Marc Davis, Matthew Davis (Leslie), Joshua Davis (Brittany), Jeremy Davis (Autumn), and Grace Murray. She is also survived by her father, Paul Murray Jr., and her brothers, Paul Murray III (Stacy) and Peter Murray (Laura).
She was also blessed with 12 precious grandchildren, including one on the way: Emily, Marc Jr, Gabriel, Aubriana, Braiden, Cayden, Joshua Jr, Isaiah, PaisleyJune, Adalaine, and Caleb. All who will miss their Mimi dearly.
Amy is sincerely cherished by extended-family members she loved as her own children and grandchildren: Sarah (Daniel), Lisa, and Donald Taylor; Charlene, Cole, and Avery Stoker.
Preceded in death by her mother June Murray, her sister Lisa Murray, and her brother Patrick Murray.
Amy was blessed with a bilateral lung transplant in 2021. The family would like to thank the teams at Ochsner and Baylor St. Luke’s for their care and compassion along with the selflessness of the donor and their family.
