Daniel “Dan” Easley, of Downers Grove, passed away October 30, 2018. Dan was born in Macomb, IL August 15, 1931. He married Marilyn L. Weber February 9, 1952 in Lewistown, IL. Dan was a resident of Downers Grove, IL for the past 3 years, Darien, IL for 35 years, and Bella Vista, AR for 21 years.
While living in Darien, IL, Dan coached Little League baseball and was a member of the Darien School District Board of Education for 8 years. He was a member of the Darien Lions Club and on the committee to incorporate the city of Darien.
Dan was very active in the real estate industry. He was a member of Thorsen Realtors Management Team and then Training Director. Dan was a manager for Coldwell Banker and a Management Consultant for Coldwell Banker Affiliates. He was the Training Director for Century 21 Northern Illinois Region and a co-owner of Century 21 Real Estate Holm & Associates. Dan served on the Board of Governors for the Realtor Institute of Illinois and was President of the DuPage Board of Realtors in 1981.
Dan loved sports, especially watching college football and attending Purdue University games. He enjoyed golfing (but not well) while living in Bella Vista. He shared his love of horses, riding every Saturday with his granddaughter, Katie.
As a member of Bella Vista Community Church he enjoyed his passion for music by singing in the church choir, and as a member of the Bella Vista Chorus.
He is survived by his loving wife off 66 years, Marilyn; their children: Danette (Tom) Gatz and Gregory (Chris) Easley; 7 grandchildren: Paul Gatz (Marley Nelson), Brian Gatz, Kevin (Kara) Gatz, Carrie Gatz, Katie (Ryan) Strain, Anne (Steve) Driscoll, and Jack Easley; 8 great-grandchildren: Addie, Colton, and Mickey Strain, Liam, Quinn, and River Gatz, Theo Nelson Gatz, and Phoebe Driscoll; and his sisters: Leta (Don) Grubor and Sandra Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel, nee Johnson and Abram Easley, and his brother David.
