Mr. Hurlburt was born on March 3, 1942 in Scotia, NY the son of Edwin and Elizabeth Hurlburt.
He married Teresa (Daiuto) in 1967 in New Jersey. He was employed for many years as a Mechanical Engineer in Groton, Connecticut, including BAE Systems before retiring.
Richard was a loving husband and father. He was described by many as a true gentleman. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including playing tennis and basketball as well as swimming, sailing, and walking the boardwalk in the town of Niantic with his wife, Teresa. He enjoyed gardening and maintaining his beautiful yard by Dodge Pond.
Mr. Hurlburt is survived by his loving wife Teresa, daughter Heather, son in law, Jason Onysko, and grandchildren Justin and Ethan, and brother, James Hurlburt. He is predeceased by his sister Shirley Betts.
To honor Mr. Hurlburt's wishes, services will be private.
