Mary E. Wade

Miss Wade was born on October 10, 1915 in Bloomfield, CT to Sara Joyce Wade and Walter Wade. She proudly attended the Old Farm Schoolhouse as a child, a two-room schoolhouse dating to 1796, now a museum. After high school, she attended Morse Business College and was employed at Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford, CT for thirty-five years.

She is survived by three nieces, Nancy McDonough of Niantic, CT, Martha Steenburgh of Pike, NH, and Susan Duffy of Windsor, CT, as well as six grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, James Wade, and a sister, Joyce Wade Duffy.

Mary loved gardening, cats and dogs, especially her beloved Shim, and spending time with her family. In her youth she enjoyed skiing and travelling.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on April 15 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, 22 Haigh Ave., Niantic. A reception will follow. A private burial will take place in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT. To sign the on-line guestbook, visit www.fultontherouxniantic.com.
