Mrs. Shea was born on July 12, 1934, in Norwich, the daughter of Pasquale and Henrietta Orsini. She was married to Joseph Shea, for 45 years, until his passing in 1999.
Margaret, was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her son William Shea, of California and her daughter Cindy Shea, of Niantic, whom she resided with, for the past five years. Also, her grandson Christopher Shea and great granddaughter Piper Shea of Dayville and her granddaughter Sarah Shea and great granddaughter Hailey Gianquitti of Plainfield.
Margaret is also survived by her brother Anthony (Janice) Orsini, of Niantic, and her sisters, Anna Luft of Florida and Johana Gadbois and Lucy (Frank) Russell, both from Norwich. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Shea, was a retired State of Connecticut employee, having worked in the Department of Income Maintenance for over 25 years.
Margaret was a proud graduate of Norwich Free Academy, Class of 1952 and a member of the Cheerleading team. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitching and had an impressive porcelain doll collection. True to her Italian heritage, she enjoyed cooking and baking. She took pride in dressing in the latest fashions and enjoyed attending many entertainment events at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
The family, would like to thank Margaret’s primary care physician Dr. Kackielo for her years of care. Also, all of the physicians and staff of Davita Norwich Dialysis for their vital care and most recently, the physicians and staff of the Bride Brook Health and Rehabilitation Center, for their comforting care.
