George Cortland Stone Jr.

George C. Stone Jr., 78, of Niantic, passed away on April 2, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was the son of George Stone, Sr. and Jeanette (Peggy) Stone. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a younger brother David. He is survived by his wife Brenda M. Stone, son Shane Stone, daughters Amy Weagle and Jodi Stone. Four grandchildren Alexander Cusano, Morgan Stone, Jaime Rix and Kaleb Stone. Siblings Gerald and Peggy Jean.

He graduated from Norwich Technical School where he studied carpentry. He went on to have his own carpentry business George Stone Jr Construction Co. which he operated for 50 plus years.

He was a long time member of Niantic Sportsmen's Club where he was involved with Skeet….loved hunting, and fishing . He loved telling stories of his adventures and hearing others stories as well.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 30th at 1pm at the Niantic Sportsmen's Club, 67 Plants Dam Rd., East Lyme.
