He was born on October 8, 1949, in New Kensington, PA, the son of William A. Wells and Mable E. (Watt) Wells.
David was a veteran of the US Navy and had many stories about his travels while serving. He worked at Electric Boat for 27 years in both the foundry and planning departments.
He enjoyed sailing with his friends, golf and following the UCONN women’s basketball team. His pets were a very important part of his life, and he spent many days walking his dog to the beach. But most of all he loved his family and just being with them. His heart was full of love and he loved big.
David is survived by his son Noah Wells and his wife Jennifer of Niantic; grandchildren Jacob David and Emily Lynn Wells; and his brother James Wells of PA. He was predeceased by his son Ethan Wells and his brother William Wells.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 11th from 1-3pm at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave., Niantic. Burial at sea will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the CT Humane Society.
