It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Bill on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Upper Canada Lodge, at the age of 83. Beloved husband for almost 56 years to Lynne (nee Surgeoner). Loving and proud Dad of Sarah Kitchen (Jim Cottringer), Andrea (Jeremy) Archer and Ryan (Pamela-May) Kitchen. Cherished Papa of Riley, Hanna, Silas, and Oaken. Dear brother of Cameron (the late Suzanne) Kitchen and Kathy Kitchen.
Bill spent the majority, if not all of his career proudly working for Ontario Hydro. He was a longtime member of St. Andrew’s United Church and could often be found puttering around the church making necessary repairs. He was proud of his long and fulfilling career, but his biggest pride was his family. He enjoyed being the family chauffeur, a cheerleader for his kids and grandkids, spending time travelling or just quietly relaxing with his wife, spending family vacations at the cottage and just being amongst nature.
A special thank you to the entire staff at Upper Canada Lodge for the exceptional care and friendship they extended to Bill and our family during his time there. Your kindness did not go unnoticed and we are truly grateful.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Ave. Niagara Falls from 2 – 5 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
