Passed away peacefully and made her way back into the loving arms of her husband Winn, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Gilmore Lodge in Fort Erie, at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Winn Cornell. Loving mother of Jody Watson (Lee Herbold), Don (Pat) Cornell and Deb (Walt) Prychidny. Cherished Gramma Phyl of Shawn (Carolyn), Joel, Hope (Eric), Jody (Terry), Pam (Jamie), April (Jeremy), Alicia (Steve), Aaron (Shannon), and Adam (Michelle). Great-grandmother of Madison, Taylor, Stone, Nash, Emma, Avery, Alana, Lindsay, Evan, Zach, Jaxon, Mya, Xander, Cade, Olivia, Ava, and Blake. Great-great grandmother of Layla. Dear sister of David (Donna) Willick. Predeceased by her siblings: Don, Betty, Bernice, Albert, and Carol; her son in law Rick Watson and her great-grandson Mackenzie. She’ll be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was the longest standing member of Chippawa Presbyterian Church.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Chippawa Presbyterian Church, 8280 Willoughby Drive, Niagara Falls (905-295-4231). A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the church at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery. Because of Phyllis’ longstanding relationship with her’s and her grandson’s church, memorial donations made to Chippawa Presbyterian Church or The Well (BIC) Church, in Fort Erie would be appreciated by the family.
