Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Joe Bomans (1992). Dear step-mother of Jo-Ann (Tom) Airth, Brad (Claudette) Bomans, Doug (Kelly) Bomans, and Michele Piche. Cherished Nana of Corinne (Casey), Julie (Josh), Callie (Justin), and Brady. Proud G.G. of Airth, Thomas, Mila, and Emma. She’ll be lovingly remembered by the Johnson Cousin Clan: Gloria, Roger, Jerry (Roxanne), George (Marilyn), Pat (Gary), Barbara (Don), Caryl (Bill), and the late Jim.
Norma was forever a dedicated nurse and proud member of the 1956 St. Joseph’s Hospital Nursing Alumni. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed the rounds she played with Marnie and the golfing girls, as well as their colourful card games. Norma never forgot Joe’s golfing motto, “Keep your head down, and follow through!”
She left a lasting and caring impression on all those she met throughout her life and she will be sadly missed by everyone.
A special thanks to the staff and community at Cavendish Manor and all the nurses and doctors at GNGH Emergency Department and Brock Unit for the exceptional care they all gave to Norma.
In keeping with Norma’s wishes, cremation has taken place and entrusted to Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel (905-354-5614). A private graveside service will be held at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery where she’ll be buried with Joe. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to The Salvation Army or the GNGH Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online tributes may be made at www.hetheringtonanddeans.com.
