It is with profound sadness we announce Lorne has gone home to be with his Lord on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the age of 80. Beloved husband for 56 years to the late Nancy. Loving father of Christine (James) Nagy, Kevin (Tammy) Bailey and the late Heather Bailey. Proud and cherished Papa of Michael, Robert, Troy, and John. Predeceased by his brother Jim Bailey. He will be remembered by his nieces and nephews Cindy, Cheryl, Andrew, Laurie, Jen, and Eric. He will be sadly missed by his chosen family Helen (Soup Lady), Nancy (Big Bird) Hicks, and Wilma and Gerry.
Lorne loved and adored his multiple trips to Myrtle Beach with Nancy and his grandsons. He enjoyed watching and cheering on his grandsons at their sporting events. In his later years, he took up painting and crafts.
A special thank you to the entire staff at Valley Park Lodge Nursing Home; especially Brianna and Karly who kept him busy with his crafts and painting; and his PSW Steve for his friendship and care.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 3 – 6 p.m. at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Ave. Niagara Falls. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Scottlea Gospel Chapel, 500 Scott St. in St. Catharines. If desired, memorial donations to Valley Park Lodge Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family as a thanks to the wonderful care they gave to Lorne.
