Passed away peacefully on Dec.6, 2014 at 1:30pm at Hospice Niagara surrounded by his loving family at the age of 86. Formerly of Port Colborne honoured and privileged husband and soul mate for 51 years to the late Bernice Joyce (nee: O’Sullivan 2006), his first and only love and to whom he proudly devoted his life to faithfully love, care for, honour and protect. He will rejoice in being re-united with Bernice who left him heart broken and grieving in her passing. John is also predeceased by his parents Francis W “Dinty” Moore (1976) and Helen Madeline (nee: Neff 1999) and sister Marilyn (Michael) Lannan of Lockport N.Y. Much loved and caring father of Jeffrey and Brian and cherished grandfather of Jillian Moore (Matti Muraca) and Megan, Elizabeth, Kathleen and Michael Collee and great-grandfather to Matteo Muraca. John will be missed by sister Kathleen (Harry) Brodhurst of Port Colborne as well as sister-in-law Ann (John) Stickles of Ridgeway and many relatives and friends.
John retired from General Motors in 1993 after 28 years and served with pride and dedication in his responsibilities in dealing with Canadian and U.S Customs personnel and border brokers. Jack was also a successful coach in Niagara Falls Minor Hockey Association for 10 years and was the president of the Port Colborne Kinsmen Club from 1963-1964.

The family will receive visitors at HETHERINGTON AND DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls on Tuesday December 9th, 2014 from 10-11:00am with a Funeral Service beginning in the Chapel at 11:00am and Rite of Committal to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
