Joan Mary Longmuir

Wonderful caring and loving wife of John Longmuir (d. Sept 24, 2022) for 70 years. Joan and John were married on October 20, 1952 in Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland U.K. Proud and devoted mother of Ian Longmuir (Sue Biamonte), the late Alan Longmuir (Karen Kinneburg), Neil Longmuir (Arden Panchyshyn), and Allyson Longmuir (Neal De Groote). Cherished and much loved grandmother of Chelsea Longmuir, Grayson and Beckett Longmuir. Forever in the hearts of her many relatives and friends.

Joan emigrated to Niagara Falls, Canada in 1953 with her husband and started working at the local Niagara Falls Hospital (Jepson Street) in the early 50's. She retired as Head of OR (Operating Room) management at GNGH after a dedicated 35-year career. Joan’s father, the late Michael D’Arcy, was a British Army Officer and her family spent her early years in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India (6yrs - 12 yrs) travelling. Making memories with her family throughout her entire life was very special to her. She loved every moment together.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Scapular Parish, 6557 Thorold Stone Road, Niagara Falls on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Joan’s family will greet their guests at the church at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Fairview Mausoleum, Niagara Falls.
