Passed away peacefully at Gilmore Lodge in Fort Erie Ontario on January 25th 2012 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late William Newman (1998) and Paul Emile LeBlanc (1964). Loving mother to Marilyn Leonard (nee LeBlanc) of Houston Texas, Kevin (Tracy) LeBlanc of Fort Erie. Much loved grandma to Bruce (Beth) Leonard, Denise Friefeld and Brent Leonard, and Ryan and Jesse LeBlanc. Great-Grandma to Katie, Elizabeth, Michael, Nolan, Amanda, and Anna all of Texas. Irene was born in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario on October 17, 1920 to parents John and Mary Ann (nee Lalonde) Larocque. A sincere thanks for the excellent care provided to her by to the wonderful staff at Gilmore Lodge.
In keeping with Irene’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate her life will be held at HETHERINGTON AND DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario on Friday February 10th at 1:30 p.m. a private inurnment at Fairview Cemetery will take place at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
