Peacefully in his sleep on January 30, 2013 at the age of 82. A beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was a man with a sharp wit and a great sense of humour. He is loved and will be missed by sons David (Kristyn) and Danny (Emily), and daughter Lee (Steve); grandchildren Erika and Jordan, Alanna, Matthew and Jonathon, and Vanessa and Michael; and great grandchildren Lear and Ever. Gerald is survived by his sisters Lela, Joyce and Mary, and his niece Barbara Carter. He is predeceased by his wife, Jean (2002), parents William and Josephine, and his sisters Annie, Shirley, Emma, June and brothers Bruce, Billy, Wilford, Doug and George.
In accordance with Gerald’s wishes, he has been cremated. A memorial service in his honour will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Greater Niagara General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
