Colleen was born into a large, extended family in Owen Sound, Ontario. At school she excelled at homemaking arts, played piano and sang and danced in competitions with her sister Shureen. Her love for music and dancing was to endure throughout her life. After relocating to St. Catharines, Ontario during WWII, she found work at Lightening Fastener, Bell Telephone and Thompson Products, where she was a very proud switchboard operator. She married Frank Ingold in 1952 and together they built a house in Niagara Falls, and raised 5 children. Although she was an exceptionally skilled wife, mother and homemaker, she was also one of the first women on her street to work outside the home, becoming a long-time employee of Ohio Brass. Well into her retirement years, Colleen remained physically fit and continued to work, using her natural social skills to demonstrate in-store products. A special thank-you to the Nursing and PSW staff at Linhaven; Betty Miller and Anna Schmoll for their care & compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations to Linhaven Long Term Care or Hospice Niagara Stabler Centre would be appreciated.
The family will receive visitors at HETHERINGTON AND DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 5176 Victoria Ave. Niagara Falls on Saturday January 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Niagara Falls.
