Loving father of Gillian, Andrew (Anna) and Jennifer (Tom) and adoring grandad of Emma, Andreas and Christian. Also missed by his nephew Gordon McKechnie and great-nephew Glenn. Predeceased by his sisters Flora and Grace of Dalmuir, Scotland; and brother Donald and sister-in-law Margaret. Archie was born in Clydebank, Scotland on 20 September 1924. He was posted to Italy, Austria and Germany as part of the Occupation Forces, and was demobbed in 1947. From the age of 12 Archie knew he wanted to be a civil engineer. After the war, he graduated as a professional engineer from the Glasgow Royal Technical College, 1950. While working in England, he met Ann in Birkenhead, Cheshire, and they married in 1954. They came to Canada in 1956, and Archie joined the firm H. G. Acres, where he worked for 32 immensely satisfying years. He was a long time member of Stamford United Church where he served as an Elder and Trustee.
