Wayne was born in Dover to the late William John Habetz Sr. and Lilly (Dingle) Cregar. He worked as an accountant for many years, most recently retiring from Peter’s Valley. Wayne enjoyed golfing, cooking and collecting old tools; he had a tool for just about any job you could think of. He enjoyed good conversation and could spend hours talking politics, history and sports. Wayne shared many interests with his wife, they particularly enjoyed gardening together as well as watching the UConn Women’s Basketball team play.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Lola Habetz; his daughters, Cynthia Bennett, Sheri Houser and husband, Kenneth Jr., and Tammy Minniti and husband, Carmen; his grandchildren, Brian Mazal, Andrea McCrae and husband, Jake, Michael Minniti and Olivia Minniti; and his siblings, Barbara Eick, Eileen Dekmar and husband, Alec, and William Habetz Jr. and wife, Linda.
Services are private under the direction of Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ.
