Sharon was born in Newton to the late Donald and Eloise (Hixson) Smith. She was raised in Newton before Moving to Stillwater 35 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she worked as an Administrative Medical Assistant at Neurologic Arts Associates as well as Dependable Health Care. After retirement, she wanted to stay active and decided to work at Hayek’s Food Market. Sharon was always involved with the community. In her younger years, she served as a Captain in the Newton First Aid Squad, was a volunteer member of Fredon Fire & Rescue Auxiliary, Newton Fire and Rescue Auxiliary and was a dispatcher for Newton Police Department. She also helped the Stillwater Gun Club during hunting season and the annual dinner.

Sharon is survived by her niece Mary Straway, her nephew Earl Pierson, her stepchildren,

David Dalling and his wife Jerri, Steven Dalling and his wife Rene, and Laura Dalling and her step-grandchildren, David Dalling, Makayla Murch, Steven Dalling, Jr. and Ethan Dalling. Along with her parents, her longtime companion, David Dalling and her two sisters predeceased Sharon.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 5-9 p.m. at Stillwater Firehouse, 929 Stillwater Road, Stillwater, NJ with a memorial service to begin at 7 p.m.
