Margie was born in Carrie, Virginia and moved to New Jersey in 1957 where she was a longtime resident of Sussex County. She was a dedicated homemaker and caregiver for many years. Margie was a member of the Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Franklin and she had a love for needlepoint and bowling in her younger years.
Margie was predeceased by her parents, Henry L. and Flarnie (Smith) Dotson; her first husband, Nicholas Ligus; her second husband, Victor Annunziata; her third husband, Ken Knabb; her stepson, Scott Knabb; her brothers, Glen, Everett, Stacy, Henry “Shine” and Kermit; and her sister, Thelma Pulcini. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Van Leuvan; her son, Robert E. Ligus; her stepdaughter, Kim Knabb; her grandchildren, Eric Van Leuvan and wife, Rachel, Melissa Van Leuvan, Kristie VanMeerbeke and husband, Peter, Allicia Cuneo, Brittany Knabb and Cassidy Barnes; her siblings, Berta Barone, Mary Alice Rasnake, Alvah “Earl” Dotson and wife, Lucille, and Richard Dotson and wife, Linda; along with her large extended family.
Visitation will be held from 10 am to 12 noon on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ. Graveside Services will follow in Newton Cemetery, Lawnwood Ave, Newton, NJ.
