Floyd was born in Newton on February 19, 1949 to the late Floyd and Florence (Stephenson) Jones.
As a lifelong Sussex County resident, Floyd attended Newton High School and later dedicated over 25 years working for the Hampton Township Department of Public Works.
Floyd was an avid collector of trains and an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He started the Dirty Dozen Gun Club and was also a member of the Paradise Fishing Club. Floyd loved making people laugh and is fondly remembered for his quick wit and clever comebacks.
Floyd is survived by his children Kevin F., Matthew J., Michael P., and Meagan K.; his first wife Mary; his brother James; and 5 loving grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Floyd James Jones Sr. and Florence Lulu Jones; and his second wife, Ronna Jones.
A Celebration of Floyd’s Life will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 2 pm at the Branchville American Legion Post 157, 325 US-206, Branchville, NJ 07826.
