Daria was born in Newton on June 12, 1947 to the late Virgil Kinney Sr. and Thora (Mather) Freeman. She grew up with her two brothers, Virgil Jr. and Richard in Newton. Daria graduated from Newton High School in 1965. Upon graduation, she enrolled at Fairleigh Dickinson for Nursing. In 1971, she relocated to Anaheim, CA, where she remained until 1978 when she married Ronald L. Hamm and they moved to Montague, NJ where they raised both their daughters, Kim and Tammy. In 2003, Ronnie and Daria moved back to Newton, NJ to live out the rest of their days, respectively.
Daria worked as purchasing agent for Selective Insurance in Branchville for many years prior to retirement. She was actively involved in Eastern Star and became Most Worthy Grand Matron for New Jersey 2021-2022. Daria served on the board for the Eastern Star home and was devoted to the United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Daria is also predeceased by her husband, Ronald L. Hamm and her brother, Virgil Jr. She is survived by her children, Kimberli Clarkson and husband, David; Tammy Moeller and husband, Brian; her grandchildren, Grace and Daniel Moeller; and her brother, Richard Kinney and wife, Cheri.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ; an Order of the Eastern Star Service and Funeral Service will follow at 4 pm.
