Daniel was born in Watertown, NY where he lived until the age of two when his family relocated to Sandyston, NJ. He graduated from Kittatinny Regional High School then attended Chubb Institute studying Information Technology. Most recently, Daniel was an IT Specialist with GenPact in Wilkes Barre, PA. He also worked many years with Selective Insurance Company and Franklin Mutual Insurance Company.
Daniel was an avid sports fan, adamantly cheering on the NY Yankees and the Miami Dolphins. His family fondly remembers his love for David’s Sunflower seeds. Daniel was fascinated by the universe and how it came to be, he frequently watched documentaries exploring space. He was an incredible father who loved his family dearly. Daniel always made an effort to show up for his family from coaching Mia’s softball team to teaching Natalee how to drive; he made it to every one of the girls’ cheer events proudly rooting them on as one of their biggest fans. He also loved watching a good horror movie with his girls.
Daniel was predeceased by his parents, Donald Richard and Rosemary (Carrier) Johnson; his sister-in-law, Bobbie Joe Kuhnert; and his beloved dog, Nellie. He is survived by his former spouse, Jill Marie Johnson; his beloved daughters Natalee and Mia Johnson; his brother, Tom Maxcy; his sister, Darleen Maxcy; his nephew, Sean Maxcy; his girlfriend, Kathleen Keating Gaspareti; his best friend, Joe Wright; and his beloved cat, Vader.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ, with a Time of Sharing at 6:45 pm.
