Anthony was born on August 26, 1936 in Jersey City to the late Joseph and Vincenza (Velardi) Gennari. Anthony spent his early years in Union City and was a former resident of Carlstadt, Montville and Toms River, NJ.
Anthony was a partner in State Steel Erectors of Paramus, NJ. He was a skilled welder and iron worker for more than 40 years; he retired in 1994. Post retirement, Anthony was a dedicated employee at Castle Fire Protection in Wharton, NJ.
Anthony, known by his family and friends as Captain, enjoyed fishing, boating, motorcycles, dancing, traveling the world, and sharing his joyful personality and silly jokes with all those around him.

Anthony is survived by his two daughters, Pam Sinishtaj, her husband Luka, and Sandy Coltelli, her husband Joe, his son Gary Gennari, his partner Rich, and his son-in-law Peter Curtis; his long time companion Ronnie Michalski; his six grandchildren Nicolas Sinishtaj, his wife Brittney, Christina Brower, her husband JD, Marisa Sinishtaj, her husband Matt, Candace Sprague, her husband Justin, Brooke Coltelli and Evan Curtis, along with his three great grandchildren Sawyer Sprague, Johnny Brower and Lenni Anne Sprague.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 24 Halsted Street in Newton. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 3-7 pm at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street in Newton.
