Anna was born on January 11, 1936, in Manhattan, NY to the late Pasquale and Chiara (Regina) Peragino. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and St. Patrick Catholic High School in NYC. Her family later settled in Newton, NJ, however Anna continued her commute to NYC working for Metropolitan Life Insurance for 33 years retiring in 1988. After retirement, she worked for the Optical Center in Newton and Andover Regional School District for 15 years before retiring in 2005.
Anna joined the Knitting and Crochet Group at Frankford Library in 2012. Her hands, steady with needles and yarn, crafted countless blankets, scarves, and beautiful pieces that will forever be treasured by those lucky enough to receive them. A lifelong reader, Anna found immense joy in the pages of countless book.
Anna is survived by her nephew and niece, Mark and Diane Peragino. Along with her parents, Anna was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Peragino.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 10 AM – 11 AM at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 203 Swartswood Rd, Newton, NJ 07860. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
