Born February 19, 1935 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Thomas Oliver Spencer and Addie Lee Terry Spencer Reid.
He was a member and deacon of Catawba Baptist Church, serving on several committees. He had a heart for mission projects which included feeding and clothing the needy, construction of churches, and disaster relief. His profession was a commercial electrician.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Rev. Q. J. Cox, Eugene Cox; and his sister, Ellen S. Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia “Pat” Bost Spencer, of the home; stepdaughter, Karen Lutz Waddell and husband, Scott of Hickory; grandchildren, Evan Waddell and Averie Waddell; niece and nephew, Sue White and Harry Monk and wife, Trenia.
A service to celebrate T.W.’s life will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., at Catawba Baptist Church in Catawba. Reverend Derek Jones will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m., at the church.
