He was born in Lincoln County, NC on July 6, 1931 to the late Louis Russell Seagle and Oney Bell Caldwell Seagle. Bob was a dedicated and active member for 60 years at Abernethy Memorial Methodist Church, where he loved his church family. He also served in the United States Navy during 1954. Bob was known for many years as “Bashful Bob” DJ and radio salesman at WNNC. He was also named Mr. DJ USA and performed on the Grand Ole Opry.
In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by brother, Arnold Seagle; sisters, Alma Reitzel and Leila Houser.
He is survived by his son, Nicky Seagle; daughters, Caren Lynne Seagle, Sandra Seagle, Crystal Garrett and husband Stephen; grandchildren, Tiffany Garrett, Stephen Garrett Jr., and Bethany Seagle; special friend, Janice “Jan” Lyall.
Receiving of friends will be held from 2 – 2:45 pm prior to the service.
A celebration of life service will be held at Abernethy Memorial Methodist Church on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 3 pm with Reverend Tom Jones officiating. “I will see you there, if the good Lord is willing and the creeks don’t rise.”
