Phyllis worked in various types of hunting and sporting good retail. She and Jake owned Riverview Bait Shop for many years. In addition, she worked at Charlie’s Bait Shop, Not Just Archery II, and Kmart in their sporting goods department. Her vast knowledge in marksmanship led her to become the first female firearm instructor at CVCC in Catawba County.
Phyllis loved spending time at Oak Island. She enjoyed long walks on the beach and collecting shells. Phyllis liked gardening, bird watching, raising chickens, making cards for all occasions, playing hymns on her keyboard, reading, riding her golf cart, cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren who adored her.
