Mr. Pao Moua, 73, of Morganton, NC passed away peacefully on Friday December 29, 2017 surrounded by his wife and children. Pao was born on April 28, 1944 in Xieng Khouang, Laos to Ntxoov Lue Moua and Chong Lor.
Pao was a hard-working family man who had a passion for life, delight in building things with his own hands, enjoyed watching Nyuj sib nraus (bullfighting) and wrestling. He was an agreeable man that made friends easily wherever he went. He appreciated the simple things in life and was the rock within his family. Pao was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years Chia Yang Moua of Morganton; sons, Vang Moua and wife Chang Mee Yang Moua of Garner, Ling Moua and wife Betty Khang Moua of Newton; daughters, Sia Moua Hang and husband Eric Hang of Morganton, Kabo Moua of Maiden; brother, Nao Peej Moua of Morganton; sister, Dia Moua Yang of Laos and many grandchildren, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and friends.
He was preceded in death by; father Ntxoov Lue Moua, mother Chong Lor, sisters Maiv Lug Moua Xiong, Ntxheb Moua Lee and brother, Koua Moua.
His family would like to extend their gratitude to Blue Ridge Healthcare system, Missionary Baptist Church, Hospice of Burke County, and Graystone Eye for their care that increased Pao’s quality of life and enabled him to enjoy his last few years.
Receiving of friends and family will be February 2-4, 2018 at the United Hmong Hall, 2289 Saint Pauls Church Rd Newton NC 28658.
