She was born September 9, 1937 in Iredell County. She was the daughter of the late Everette Cline and Sarah Lou Bost Cline. Nancy Jo was a long-time active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Newton and had worked for many years as a sewer for Southern Furniture Company, Montclair Furniture Company, and Bassett Furniture Company. She enjoyed planting flowers, sewing, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Edison Styers; brother, John Cline; and sisters, Beulah Mae Riddle, Peggy Bass, Louise Miller, and Frances Eidson.
Survivors include her sons, William “Billy” Styers and wife, Glenda; Mike Styers and wife, Julie; Tommy Styers and wife, Pattie, and Gary Styers and wife, Melissa, all of Newton, and James “Jimmy” Styers and wife, Gina, of Catawba; sister, Sue C. Webster of Statesville; and sister-in-law Henrietta Mary Cline of Statesville. Ms. Styers also leaves grandchildren, Mandy Sain, Hillary Pope, David Styers and wife, Joanne, Brandon Styers and wife, Julia, Ashley Giannico and husband, Patrick, Julianne Surratte and husband, Aaron, Jason Styers and wife, Kimberly, Jonathan Styers, Clay Styers and wife, Shasta, Blake Styers, Derek Styers, Christopher Styers, Jordan Styers, Malcolm Styers and wife, Candace, and Meleah Styers; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Sain, Zac Sain, Katie Sain, Layne Sain, Talon Sain, Ciersten Sain, Bristol Sain, Wesley Pope, Dominic Pope, Toryn Rhyne, Logan Styers, Ben Styers, Rylee Styers, Wesson Styers, Nicholas Giannico, Beau Surratte, Chloe Styers, Wyatt Styers, Rory Styers, Ayden Styers, and Jaxon Styers to cherish her memory.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Newton. Reverend Ed Yarbrough, Reverend Fred Thompson, and Reverend Arthur Yount will officiate.
Burial will follow the service at Eastview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Newton.
