It is with broken hearts that we said goodbye to our loving son and brother, Mark Patrick Cline on March 19,2023. He was born on September 11,1974 and began his life of adventure at the age of three by zooming down hills at top speed on his Big Wheel trike while the "big kids" stood around urging him on. That love of adventure and his love of nature never left him and even as he recuperated from his amputation, he talked about getting back on his hiking trails.
He loved with a ferocity and those he chose to call true friends were cherished and never forgotten. Eddie Gurley became his best friend and brother in the 6th grade when they met. Ed's wife Anna Beth immediately became his sister and Mark adored their sons Thad and Vayden. Mark met Star in high school and made her a beloved part of our family and our family friend, Daphne (Killian) Harbinson always had a special place his heart. His love for those cherished friends and family were the foundation of his life.
Mark communed with nature and God on the mountain trails where his spirit soared. He always returned home uplifted after renewing his inner peace on the trails.
Mark's memory is being held close by his parents Patrick and Pamela (McLaughlin) Cline; his sister Candida Kinsch (Todd) and his niece and nephew Abigail and Liam Miller. His Uncle Norris McLaughlin and Aunt Nancy were not only relatives but very close friends. Eddie and Anna Beth Gurley are reeling from his death as are Star Williams and Daphne Harbinson. Mark has aunts and multiple cousins in Hickory and Florida who are also missing him.
A celebration of his amazing life will be held on April 3rd,2023 at Beth Eden Lutheran Church in Newton. The receiving will be at 2pm and the service will follow at 3pm with Pastor Marcus Ollis officiating.
To all who knew and cared for Mark we say "thank you" for the love you gave him over the years. Please know much he cherished your friendship.
