Johnny "John" Alan Huffman

Born May 12, 1951, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Cecil Dormond Huffman and Elsie Mae Queen Huffman.

John served in the US Air Force, Air National Guard, and the North Carolina National Guard. He was an avid baseball and NASCAR fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Huffman.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Poe Huffman; son, Sean Alan Huffman and wife Betsy; daughters, Heather Huffman Hubbard and husband Chad, Michelle Talley Hegert and husband Trevor; brothers, Dick Huffman and wife Cresconda; grandchildren, Lexie Crafton and Phenix Huffman.

A memorial service will be held at 11am, Tuesday July 31, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, 2304 Springs Rd NE Hickory NC 28601, with Pastor Dave Guelzow officiating. The inurnment ceremony will take place at the church columbarium after the memorial service. American Legion Post 48 and the United States Air Force will provide military honors.
