

Born September 21, 1929 in Burke County, NC, he was the son of the late Glenn Cochrane and Maudie Mull Cochrane McRee.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist church and was formerly employed at Southern Desk Company, owner of Texaco in Newton on Hwy. 321, and owned Medical Equipment Sales & Repair. Mr. Cochrane was an amateur photographer and was a master of all things. He could repair anything and loved working with tools. His pride and joy were his two grandsons and granddaughter, Kaity.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cochrane was preceded in death by his sister Clara Hoke.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Helen Herman Cochrane; his son, Michael Lee Cochrane and wife Julie of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Nancy C. Greer and husband Delane of Newton; Grandchildren, Greg Greer and wife Jennifer of Newton and Marcus Greer of Conover, Great-Granddaughter, Kaitlyn Greer of Newton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cochrane’s services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in the Chapel with Pastor Brant Hoots and Reverend Fred Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 2:00-2:45 p.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Delane Greer, Marcus Greer, Greg Greer, John Drum, Larry Hood, and Eddie Copeland will serve as pallbearers.
