Born May 12, 1924 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Thad Rowe Gabriel and Sallie Mae Mundy Gabriel. Frances was a gifted poet. She retired from Nationwide Insurance after 35 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joel Thad Berry; brother, James Robert Gabriel; and sister, Dorothy Gabriel Crutchfield.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Marsha Cole of Arden, NC; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Sigmon and wife, Susan of Georgia, Betsy Buckingham and husband, James Robert (Buck) of Wilmington; great grandchildren, Carson and Scout Sigmon, and their mother, Robin Sigmon, all of Sherrills Ford, Trey, Max and Brody Buckingham, all of Wilmington.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 19, 2018 at Rehobeth United Methodist Church in Terrell, with Rev. Michael Rich officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
