Doris Keever Rinehart Westby

The youngest of 11 children, Mom was born September 20, 1933 in Catawba County, a daughter of the late Sidney Keever and Susie Bradshaw Keever of Maiden.

Prior to retirement, she worked for The Boeing Aircraft Company (WA) but returned to NC to follow her lifetime passion of self-employed childcare. She followed her faith in God as a devoted member of Springs Road Baptist Church in Hickory. A gifted gardener, our mom enjoyed canning and preserving the bounty of her garden. Her beautiful flowers brought great joy and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, followed by her first husband, Daniel James Rinehart, in 1958 and she has finally been reunited with her 3 brothers and 7 sisters whom she missed deeply.

Those left to cherish her memory include 4 children, Debra Rinehart Brendle, DuWayne Westby, Gregory Westby, and Amanda (Will) Barnes; 5 grandchildren, Christy (Greg) Habeeb, Andrew (Amber) Brendle, Cory (Jessica) Westby, SSgt. Kyle Westby, Katherine Lassiter; 7 great grandchildren, Daniel, William and Anna Habeeb, Wade and Eliza Brendle, and Colden and Larken Westby.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m., on Saturday, October 13, 2018 with a Celebration of Her Life beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home, 56 Northwest Blvd., Newton, NC 28658, 828-464-0131. The Dr. Will G. Barnes will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church, 3273 Mt. Ruhama Church Road, Maiden, NC 28650.
