Doris E. Barnes

Doris Sims White Barnes, age 93, of Newton died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Born June 17, 1924 in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of the late, Arthur T. Sims and Ollie Benfield Sims.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jennings White and her second husband, Arnold L. Barnes Sr., four brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include a son, Douglas White and wife, Gabby; a daughter, Pamela Lail and husband, Hal; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at North Newton Baptist Church in Newton, NC. Pastor Curtis Hagler will officiate and burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park.
