Donald Edward Horton Sr.

Born September 10, 1945 in Wellsboro, PA, he was the son of the late Leon Horton and Freida Campbell Horton, was a mechanic in the leather industry and was a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Horton, Jr., and his sister Hazel Padget.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lena Purdy Horton, of the home; daughters, Helen Horton, Dee (Donita) Cryer of Leesville, LA, Christine Lahr, of Middleburg PA, Dawn Horton of Newton, NC, Liza Horton, of Newton, NC; sons, Stephen Horton of Newton, NC, Chris Horton of Maiden, NC, James Horton of Lenoir, NC, William Horton; sisters, Connie Putnam of Addison, NY, Judy Shutter of Tioga, PA; brothers, Phil Horton, of Cameron, NY, John Whipple, of Gain, PA, David Horton, of Mansfield, PA; 15 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 2, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Willis Reynolds Funeral Home.

The Horton family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 – 5:45 p.m.
