Arthur "Bill" William Anderson

Arthur "Bill" William Anderson, age 89, died on Friday, March 14, 2025. A longtime resident of Catawba Co., of both Hickory and Newton; and previously of Clearwater, FL. He was the son of the late Henry Leroy and Sylvia Rhoda Miller Anderson. He served in the US Army for 2 years, was a classified sharpshooter and honor guard.

Bill was a loving husband, proud dad and devoted grandfather to his two grandsons.

He was the owner and manager of Glass Service Company of Clearwater, FL. Upon moving back to Hickory, he worked at Frye Regional Hospital in the engineering department until retiring in 2014. Bill was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Clearwater, FL. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening and stained-glass art.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Anderson; 2 sisters, Dorothy Frye and Henrianna Kirby; and 2 brothers, J. L. Anderson Jr. and C. Dean Anderson.

He is survived by his son, Todd Anderson and his wife, Debbie, and two grandsons, Christopher and Joshua Anderson, all of Hickory.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Catawba Memorial Park on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 am.
