IN THE CARE OF
Peninsula Memorial Park
Richard B. Wagner, 56, of Seaford, VA passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was born in Newport News, VA to Paul A. and Shirley H. Wagner who preceded him in death as well as his sister, Denise W. Fair. He was a 1983 graduate of Menchville High School. Rick enjoyed a life-time career in shipbuilding. He was a graduate of Newport News Shipbuilding Advanced Apprentice School followed by a Mechanical Engineering Technical Degree from Old Dominion University in 1994. He was employed as a civilian with NAVSEA Supervisor of Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA. He was a man with many talents. Countless personal projects are a testament to his gift and skill of working with his hands; as well as proof of his intuitively knowing how things work. He was most content in his or one of his friends' workshops. He relished a good story and preferred to be the one telling it. Even so, he was a good listener and trusted confidant to not only his family, but to those he called friends.
Rick loved his family deeply. There is nothing he would not do for them. He was the epitome of a strong protector and provider for those he loved and cared for.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sandra Y. Wagner of Seaford, VA and his three beloved children, Olivia C. Wagner of Charleston, SC; Graham B. Wagner of Dandy, VA, and Heath Y. Wagner of Seaford, VA. He will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered.
A Private Funeral Service was held due to Covid-19 and Rick was laid to rest at Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to CHKD https://www.chkd.org/Support-Us/Donate/
