Jack was born on November 19, 1920 in Barre, NY. He was a farmer at a young age until moving to California in 1959. Jack worked at HR Textron for over 25 years until his retirement. He lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for nine years and resided in Friendly Valley.
Jack is survived by his wife, Evelyn Waldo, to whom he was happily married for a little over 67 ½ years; his three daughters, Linda (Jimmy) Smith, Gloria (Lee) Martinez, Pat Herrera; his son, Michael Waldo; his 11 grandchildren, Doreen (Mark) Slater, Dean (Kelly) Smith, Jennifer (Paul) Wormser, Elias Martinez, Danielle Herrera, Jeff (Jamie) Herrera, Shannon (Johnny) Tergo, Gregg (Lauren) Herrera, Kelly Waldo, Nicole Waldo and Christina Waldo; his 17 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher, Natalie, Naomi, Evelyn, Harrison, Ella, Kanan, Macy, Audrey, Julia, Laurel, Dylan, Luke, Gavin, Bradyn and Everly. His daughter-in-law, Jana Waldo and his son-in-law, Danny Herrera preceded Jack in death.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 10am. Both will be held at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
Jack's family wrote, "He was the most wonderful man in the world. He will be missed."
