I too recently learned of Mr Brown's passing.  He was truly a role model and took part in helping a number of young boys in the neighborhood transition into adulthood.  My heart and prayers go out to his family who will undoubtedly miss him.  Rest in peace my friend......

I was saddened to learn of Roy's passing.  While driving pass Eternal Valley this past Saturday, October 13th I was thinking about Roy and Alice Brown.  I told my wife that I had always admired their relationship and how classy they were.  I later learned of Roy's passing when Ted Marshall called to inform me of the sad news.  Our small neighborhood was like an expanded family and those memories will always be cherished.  I grew up a few houses down the street from the Browns and thought of them as surrogate parents and would spend endless hours at their home playing with their children.  I'll always have fond memories of De Haven Avenue, in Pacoima, and Roy and Alice Brown.  May they rest in eternal peace.
