Rodolfo was born in Jalisco, Mexico on December 25th, 1946. His parents were Maria and Vicente Jimenez. He had thirteen brothers and sisters in total. One sibling passed away at birth. He grew up in Jalisco, Mexico until he was nine years old, at which time he moved to Tijuana and lived there until he was 19. While living in Tijuana, he had several pets and also was very involved in school. He was the capitan of his school when he was in sixth grade. Something he was very proud of. He had a dog named Capitan, coincidentally, who followed him around everywhere he went. Rodolfo loved that dog and that dog loved him very much. Aside from running around with his brothers and sisters, Rodolfo had to start working at a young age to help support his family. Working on a farm, he did everything from herding sheep, milking cows to collecting eggs from chickens and other various chores. He was never one to be tight with his money, and would give his siblings allowance every week after giving the majority to his mother.
At the age of 19, Rodolfo went to live with his aunt in Van Nuys, California. This is where he met Connie, his future wife. Aside from beating up anyone who looked at her (she was quite the siren), he had a very sweet side that she had awoken in him. After dating for a while, they got married. Shortly after, Maria De La Cruz Jimenez, their first beautiful daughter was born.
Although he only completed a sixth grade level of education in Mexico, Rodolfo could have intelligent conversations with the best of them. He also applied his knowledge of design and engineering to the rod iron gates he would go on to make at Court Security Systems. Here he worked for eighteen years, overseeing a staff of approximately twenty men. Although he would go from welder to foreman, this never stopped him from helping out. He was a hard worker and never just supervised. He felt that helping out his workers he supervised was something he had to do. So much so, that he ended up severely injuring his back from it. This forced him to retire and he ended up getting six operations, leaving him with a metal plate and screws in his back. Rodolfo was forced to go into retirement due to the high level of pain. This caused depression for him since he felt like working was a big part of his life.
He had many hobbies and pass times , such as coin collecting, kung fu fighting movies, cooking, playing video games, building things, drafting, learning, etc. Even after he was forced to retire, he continued drawing and coming up with inventions. A very creative man as well as a thinker. He was always a pleasure to speak with and made friends very quickly.
Rodolfo is survived by his wife, Connie, son, Rudy and daughters, Maria and Irene. His grandchildren, Chad, Matt, Alyssa, Andrew, Benny, Bella and Daniel. He has one great grand child, Ayslin.
His son Jaime passed away in 2011. He was extremely close with him and is now reunited with him in heaven. Something that is very comforting for those whom he left behind.
Wake and viewing services will be held at Eternal Valley in Newhall, CA on July 18th at 11am with a reception to follow in the main hall.
