I just heard about Mike's passing announced while watching Broc in SX practice at A1. My family and I spent a week with Mike, Debbie and the boys pitted together at World Minis. We enjoyed them all so much. What a wonderful family. I am so sorry very to hear this news. Lifting you all in prayer. I hope this finds you with hearts full of wonderful memories of time spent with Mike.

I am not sure how to begin, The past 24 hours have been great even as far as AWESOME. I was contacted about the Indian Dunes Reunion and can honestly say I was "on top of the world" talking on the phone and catching up on old times and making plans to see everyone the 13th to share our memories.. Then I saw this.. Reality bites hard sometimes, and this surely is one of the toughest bites I have had in quite a while. Mike was always a pro on and off the track someone I can easily say was everyone's best friend. Mike worked on my YZ when I raced and always found time to bring me a cold drink on the those hot summer days when I worked for AME and could'nt leave my post. ah yes the memories, He was a friend to all indeed.
How time passes, I'm 60 yrs old now and this upcoming reunion is going to be a time of reflection of a brother and sisterhood we all formed while in competition, while never losing respect for one another. ive known mike since the dunes  he was our number one rider cor crc he was a great guy and  missed he is now with jeff barbacovi and tony riding in hevan  god speed mike and to the family so so sorry for your loss

I knew Mike when he lived in Canoga Park, I lived down the block. He was such a nice friendly guy.  My condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.

Mike and I raced at the Dunes. Haven't seen him in years Was hoping I would run into him at the races catch up Sorry I missed him.  He was a CLASS ACT! My prayers go out to Mikes family.

I can honestly say that Mike was one of the best guys I've ever known. I've never heard anything negative from him. I was lucky to have him in my life and will always remember the good times we shared. The world has lost one of the good guys.

We have prayed with you all over the past months and we will continue to pray for you all now. Wish we could be there to love and support you.

I always admired the calm in Mike. His wonderful sportsmanship and drive were always on display at the races. He was a good husband, father and friend. He will be sorely missed and my heart goes out to his family. You will always be loved and remembered, Mike, no more suffering, rest in peace.

My heart and prayers go out to the family! Mike was one of my heros growing up at the Dunes! The epitome of the wrecking crew! He was an Icon and a winner! We have lost a great one far too soon!

I know Mike as a racer and knew him and his dad back in the International MC days.  Mike was a little younger and I watched him come up to the expert ranks and when we first met I wanted to dislike him (had to hate your competitors) but Mike was just to likable!  He was always friendly to me and even on the track he was someone you could trust.  I stopped racing in 1977 and always expected Mike to go onto be a champ!  He did amazing things on a Motorcycle and between Donnie and Mike my money was on Mike (Sorry Donnie).  

Around 1994/95 I went to bean canyon to go riding and all of a sudden this guy pulls up in a van and it's Mike!  We ended up riding most of the day and I always thought I would see him again.  I heard of Mike's fight with cancer and  Mike has been in my thoughts and prayers ever since and so very, very sorry for Mike's family and friends.  God speed Mike!

He was a good rider. But more important a great person. Rip buddy.

I met mike maybe 20-25 years a go.  He didn't know me other than I was one of the Simi MX guys, but he invited me into his home and treated me like I was an old friend from the first second.  I was one of the kids that hung out at his dad's shop (International Yamaha) back in the day, and got yelled at more often than not for being in the way and Larry was worried I'd have a bike fall over on me and I'd get hurt.  Both Larry and Mike were class acts and great people.  Now both are gone and we are saddened by this, but Larry and Mike are together again, which, while sad to us, is a nice thought for them.
RIP Mike.  You will be missed.

For some reason, my strongest memory of Mike is us racing as 14-15 year old kids - he was FIERCE.  We have not talked in decades--but I will always remember him as a kind man and a nice kid.  I am very sorry for his passing.  My deepest regards to Mikes family and all who loved him.  God bless.

Mike was a great guy. I was his neighbor and will always remember the time we had with he and his late father Larry. My family and I are deeply saddened. My heart goes out to his family.
