My world, Grandma/ My Mother. I love you. 

Our grandmother, Leyda M. Soto was born on April 03, 1941 in Ponce Puerto Rico to her parents Miguel and Catalina Soto. She was one out of 8 children and she was extremely close to all her siblings. She moved to New York city when she was a young child growing up on the east coast.

In 1963, She found love and delivered her one and only child, a son she named George.
She worked her entire life, always making sure those who were her priority would not go through the same hardships she grew up with in her life as a child.

In 1977, She made a bold move most people would probably be afraid to make. She moved her family 3,000 miles away from all they’ve known for a new life and adventure. She immediately found employment and with driven desire and dedication, worked for the same company for 25 plus years until she retired in 2007 to start a new advendture spending time with the people she found so dear to her. She would happily spend the time with her siblings, her son and grandchildren. 

Our grandmother loved cooking meals with her sisters and was a crazy rollercoaster lover well into her later years in life, surprising all those who would not even dare to go on that ride she conquered. She loved to go to Vegas and just plain loved going for road trips.

She loved spending time with her family. It didn’t have to be a party or any special event, she enjoyed cooking telling stories and just laugh and have a good time.

Her pride has always been her family. In regards to her great grandchildren, which we are so happy that she had the opportunity to coexist with, She always made sure they felt her love and it was always reciprocated effortlessly with hugs and kisses. She enjoyed long conversations with them and she loved to sing to them, always speaking about God to them, this was important to her. 


I love you so much Titi Leyda & I will miss dearly. I am so blessed to have had you in my life. I'm so thankful that I was able to make my amends to you & make peace with you. I will always cherish the fun we had together. All the adventures we had going out to different places. We laughed together, cried together. We fought a lot but at the end of the day we made up. You were a stubborn woman & hard to deal with at times but no matter what I loved you. We went through a lot together. Thank you for loving me the way you did & for showing me a lot that I know now. You will forever be in my heart. May you rest in peace Titi, until we meet again.
