It is with great sadness that the McBride and Blakeley families announce the passing of Julia McBride on October 23, 2019. Born February 16th 1955 in Glendale CA. She was the daughter of Houston and Lydia Blakeley, wife of Palmer McBride, mother to Edwin McBride and Melissa Bryant and very proud grandmother of Janae, Daisy, Emily and Jacob. One of her most important rolls she took on in life was “Aunt Julie”. Aunt Julie was a protector and care-taker. For many in the family, over the years, she was a port in the storm for them when they needed to be taken in. It was no questions asked when a loved one needed her for a helping hand. She was often lovingly referred to as “Momma Bear” by her husband Palmer. She loved her family and siblings dearly and had an especially close bond with her sister Dolly. She was a jack of all trades when it comes to arts and crafts and shared that passion with those she loved. She enjoyed camping, crocheting and painting. Julia was a fantastic cook and often made awesome custom birthday cakes for the kids in the family. She was a spit fire her entire life and had a way of instilling those same bold values on to the next generation of “strong women” in her family. She was especially proud of her children's accomplishments and was excited to see her grandchildren grow and said she knew they were all going to be doing great things in life. She took a piece of the soul of every one who loved her when she passed and will be forever remembered for her loving spirit and generosity to those she cared for.
