John Edward Doran

John “Jack” Doran passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Santa Clarita, California. He was 85.

John was born on October 1, 1932 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Gerald and Eva Doran. He graduated from Catholic Central in 1952. Shortly after graduation, John joined the Air Force and while on tour in Japan, he met his wife of 43 years, Tomoko. After serving his country for 23 years, he worked as a Postal Carrier for the City of Riverside for 20 years. John loved to travel. Once he retired, he followed this passion by driving his 5th wheel around the United States, spending time at Del Mar Beach (Camp Pendleton) and traveling to Oahu with his beloved daughter and family. These trips became an annual tradition that his family will always cherish the memories of.

John is survived by his daughter and her husband, Patti and Steve Ortiz, and grandchildren Matthew and Jessica. He was preceded in death by his wife Tomoko, siblings Nancy Palmer, James Doran, Bill Doran and Sally Pierce.

Service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, October 17th at 11:00 AM at Riverside National Cemetery.
