Joan C. Comer

1939 – 2016

Joan Cecilia Comer passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016. She was born May 27, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY to parents William and Cecilia (Mulvey) Farrell.

Joan graduated from Midwood High School with honors and continued her schooling with Medical Laboratory Assistant School. She was a medical laboratory assistant for 20 years, working side -by-side with some of the finest doctors. While working as a medical assistant Joan was asked twice from two doctors for her opinion on possible diagnosis of a rare disease and she was right both times.

She married Robert Comer on December 28, 1957 at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY. They raised three children who were a delight to those around them. She serviced in various ways to the church and had a great love for her faith. Joan was known by all as a great presence to be around.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Comer, her children Kevin Comer and Kate Comer and grandson Seth Comer. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Cecila Farrell and her daughter Kerry Comer.

Services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 24244 Newhall Ave, Newhall, CA 91321 with burial to follow at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall.
