Together in 1973, they immigrated to the United States to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Ivy passed away peacefully on March 24, 2012, at home in Newhall, California. She left behind her son Rudie and his wife Sonja Zylmans of La Tuna Canyon, California, her daughter Ellie Zijlmans-Ashton of Valencia, California, her daughter Anne and husband Louis Kaulbach, also of Valencia, California, and Jeannie Zijlmans of Lecco/Como, Italy.
Ivy also leaves behind her grandchildren Patrick and wife Susie Zylmans of Arlington, Texas, Richard Zylmans of La Tuna Canyon, California, Mitzy and Christian Torres of Saugus, California, Tanya Wooninck-Bund and Richard Bund of Valencia, California, Lisa Wooninck-Towley and Louis Towley of Aptos, California, Monique Wonninck and Jean-Claude Roche of Andrezieux, France, Lou and Dawn Kaulbach of Valencia, California, Peter and Julia Kaulbach of Saugus, California, and Laura Bertolini and Antonio Campagnoli of Oggiono , Italy.
Her great grandchildren are Kelsey and Bryce Torres, Kira and husband Ken Barlow, David Bund, Alissa and Joshua Towley, Samuel and Mitzy Roche, Louis and wife Amy Kaulbach, Kristy Kaulbach, Stevie, Johnny, Mia, Natalie, and April Kaulbach and Tommaso Campagnoli.
Great great grandchildren are Cody and Natalie Barlow, Will, Ava, and LouisR. C. Kaulbach, and Kyle P.Garcia.
A special heartfelt thank you goes to Hanna for her years of gentle caring for Ivy & the Gerinet Hospice care team.
A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 3pm at the Friendly valley Community Church, 19246 Avenue of the Oaks, Newhall, California.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Friendly Valley Community Church or your favorite charity in Ivy Zijlmans’ memory.
Mom was known for her incredibly warm welcomes, her “green” thumbs, and her delicious Indonesian cuisine.
