Ishmael was born July 11, 1949 in Belize City, BE to Lucas Silvino Hernandez and Maria Conception Reyes. He grew up with two brothers, Orlando and Javier. He graduated from St. John’s College in Belize in 1968. Shortly, thereafter he migrated to the United States in 1974 where he earned his contractors license in heating and air-conditioning.
At the age of 28 years old, he met and fell in love with Hye-u Nam, who worked nearby at her family owned restaurant as a hostess. They were married on May 26, 1979 and within a short period of time started a family.
Being a hard-working and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Ishmael and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family.
Ishmael was a devoted father and an accomplished self made man. He successfully owned and operated, Lucas Heating & Air Conditioning Services, in the Santa Clarita Valley for over 35 years. He enjoyed all sports but his passion was most notable with soccer. While he loved watching and playing soccer, some of his most fondest memories involved coaching his daughter Amanda. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Hye-u, three children Lucas, Brian, Amanda, and two grandchildren Ava and Aubrey.
The funeral service will be held on September 19, 2023 at the Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary at 2:00PM.
