Donald Louis Verrilli beloved husband, father, brother and pop-pop to Daniel went home to be with God on June 4, 2013 in Burbank, California. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Virginia Verrilli. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Constance Verrilli; his son, Donald Virrilli Jr (Sabina); his daughter, Christine (Ken) Larson; and his grandson, Daniel; his brothers Richard (Nadine) Verrilli, Michael (Bonnie) Verrilli, and Albert (Jenny) Verrilli; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was born on February 5, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio. He moved to California at a young age and was a resident of Canyon Country, California for 38 years. Don completed his preparatory school training in California. At the age of 18 he joined the U. S. Army. Following his service to our country Don came home to work on more schooling. He achieved his B. A. in Public Relations from Woodbury College and then went on to complete his Master at Pepperdine.
Donald joined the Glendale Police department in 1966. He obtained the rank of Sargent and eventually retired from the Glendale Police Department in 1982.
Don met Connie, the love of his life, at Calvary Bible Church in Burbank. The two married shortly thereafter and shared over 47 years of blessed marriage together. Don was beloved by all who knew him, and had a strong testimony for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His passing will leave a huge hole in all our lives, but we rejoice that he is in heaven with his Lord. The family is comforted by 1 Corinthians 15:20-22: But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
Memorial Gifts may be sent to Santa Clarita Baptist Church in memory of Donald. He will be deeply missed.
